Speed Maze Rabbit (RetroProgrammation) $1 USD

Game title: Speed Maze Rabbit
Game description: Speed Maze Rabbit is a maze game in which the player navigates procedurally generated labyrinths in an attempt to locate the exit, with each session offering a unique challenge through randomly created layouts shown in a pseudo-3D perspective with a dynamic mini-map. The game provides two modes of play: a real-time countdown where the exit must be reached before the timer expires, and a limited moves mode where the exit must be reached within a fixed number of steps. Controls are available through Joystick Port 2 or the keyboard using W (up), A (left), S (down), Z (right), Space (action), and RUN/STOP (pause or quit). Background music is included (but did not work for me), while sound effects are not yet implemented in this version. Players can adjust the difficulty by enabling or disabling trace markers, which display the player’s path as footprints, and by showing or hiding the dynamic mini-map during play.

Summary
Speed Maze Rabbit shows some quality in its presentation, with an impressive pseudo-3D rendering engine that runs smoothly, a fair degree of configurability in the game settings, and well-drawn static screens. However, it falls short in the most important areas of gameplay: fun and engagement. The novelty of exploring the labyrinth wears off quickly, as there is little variety or activity to sustain interest. The absence of in-game hazards removes tension, and the generous challenge limits make it difficult not to succeed on nearly every attempt. Additionally, the version purchased was advertised as including in-game music, but unfortunately this feature did not function during play.
