Herra 47: Midsummer Festival (Vector5 Games) $6.90 USD

Game title: Herra 47: Midsummer Festival
Game description: In this quirky adventure, you play as Herra 47, a recently unemployed man facing the approach of a Midsummer Festival he can’t afford. Determined to throw the perfect celebration despite his financial woes, he takes on odd jobs and side gigs around his small Finnish town to raise money. His goal: to rent a charming lakeside villa for a proper party. Beneath the hustle, there's a subtle, heartfelt hope — that this summer night might lead him to someone special to share the warmth of the bonfire and the magic of the long northern twilight. The game blends graphical navigation with a text parser, letting you move Herra 47 using the joystick while typing commands to interact with the world. The full version features 39 rooms to explore, 3 mini-games, and a distinctly humorous yet sincere tone throughout.

Summary
Herra 47 is an interactive graphical adventure that channels the spirit of the Leisure Suit Larry franchise. The combination of joystick movement and keyboard commands works well for the most part, though the text parser feels somewhat limited in its flexibility.
The game is visually well presented, with several amusing touches in the narrative that are sure to elicit a chuckle. However, the story never quite connects — it’s unclear what our protagonist’s actual objective is, and the motivation behind his journey feels underdeveloped.
It’s a small game, and you’ll likely reach the ending all too soon. Unfortunately, the conclusion doesn’t build toward anything that makes you truly care about achieving the final goal. Text adventures — whether graphical or purely interactive — rely heavily on strong storytelling to succeed. Herra 47: Midsummer Festival doesn’t quite hit the mark in that regard.

Fully agree with the review. Bought it on itch.io and played through it on a weekend. It could be so much more with a little more work. The parser made me struggle a couple of times, particularly with the mailbox. I *knew* what I had to do but whatever I entered, it wasn’t accepted. I had to search the walkthrough for the right words. Technically it’s impressive and I found the main theme to be really catchy. Good work! Given the Larry 1 port isn’t out yet, this is still your only choice (?) on the C64 if you want that Larry experience. Not a bad game, still fun. Overall 71% hits about right.
